Overview
The 2026 State of Training Provider Operations report draws on survey data from 412 training organizations across North America, Europe, and APAC. It examines how providers are managing the operational pressures of hybrid delivery, rising learner expectations, and tightening margins — and what separates high-growth providers from the rest.
Operational complexity is rising for most providers
61% of respondents report that managing hybrid and multi-modal delivery has become significantly more complex in the past 18 months. The primary drivers are managing scheduling across time zones (58%), maintaining consistent learner experiences across delivery formats (52%), and coordinating a growing roster of freelance facilitators (44%).
Technology adoption separates high-growth from stagnant providers
Providers who have centralized their operations on an integrated learning management platform report 2.4× higher revenue growth than those managing programs across disconnected tools. The difference is most visible in scheduling efficiency, learner communication, and the ability to generate actionable reporting for corporate clients.
Pricing pressure is squeezing margins
47% of providers report pricing pressure from enterprise buyers seeking to renegotiate contracts in light of economic conditions. Providers with strong outcome data and transparent reporting are significantly better positioned in these negotiations, with 71% retaining or increasing contract value versus 39% for those with limited reporting capabilities.
